The annual Distribution des Prix ceremony will be held at Chestnut Hill College in the Sorgenti Arena of Martino Hall on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Please contact our website at www.chc.edu for directions to the College. National winners will be photographed before or during the ceremony. Their pictures appear in the French Contest Newsletter, mailed to all AATF members. All winners, local (local ranks 1-10), mention honorable (local ranks 11-12), school winners (the highest score for schools who do not place locally), FLES winners, and of course national winners will be honored. Please encourage your students to attend. We need to promote language study, especially French, as much as possible. Awards for national winners include Olympic medals, along with books and an opportunity for a summer scholarship. Awards for local winners include trophies, plaques, and Fraternité pins. All winners receive a certificate, which will be included in the envelope for the school. You are also encouraged to have a ceremony in your own school, and to promote the study of French by publicizing the event in the local media.
**New this year: Those attending the ceremony are asked to bring along a bag or box for awards belonging to students who are not present. Please claim the cards for your missing students once the ceremony has begun, and bring them to the desk in back of the Arena. We will pack your awards during the ceremony, and you can claim them after the event. It will not be necessary for you to wait while this is done after the Awards. We hope this will expedite the process, and avoid errors. If you cannot be present, please pick up your awards if at all possible.
I remind you to report to me in writing (e-mail is fine kashubam@chc.edu) before April 20, 2007 all errors in the spelling of the names of students, and any other errors that may have occurred. This will insure that the certificates are printed correctly. We cannot correct errors after this time, and cannot replace incorrect certificates. Please note that the names and schools are printed according to the information the student gave on the answer sheet. We cannot change anything.
The 2008 National French Contest will be given in the Philadelphia Chapter of the AATF on March 4, 5, and 6, 2008. If these dates are impossible for you, please contact me as soon as possible. You may not administer the test at any other time without special permission. You do understand that we must safeguard the integrity of the test as far as possible. Answer sheets must be postmarked or delivered within 48 hours after the administration of the test. Please respect these deadlines. FLES dates are earlier. I will inform you as soon as I know them.
Encore une fois, félicitations à nos gagnants et à leurs professeurs ! |
