Presidents’ Message
Fall 2011

Chers collègues,

We imagine that Hurricane Irene wasn’t your idea of the way to begin the school year, and yet we hope that by now you are well under way with fresh ideas and an invigorated frame of mind.

We invite you to peruse the information that you will find below. In particular please note our fall program on October: Keep Kids Engaged and Coming Back for More presented by Michelle Kindt. The executive committee has been planning future opportunities to further develop your teaching strategies and add to your own personal enrichment as a teacher. Although we are first and foremost an educational organization, the networking and the camaraderie provide an additional bonus to us all.

Please take a few moments to visit our national website. It is an extremely valuable resource: frenchteachers.org. You can get informed or make a contribution on the AATF Facebook site, or your can join a conversation on Twitter.

We are so fortunate to be French teachers at a time when we have a wealth of resources right at our fingertips. Just today we consulted the following web site: www.histoireimmigration.fr/histoire-de-l-immigration/le-film, which highlights in detail the theme: Le film : deux siècles d'histoire de l'immigration en France. Do keep in touch with us and we always welcome your feedback.

Bonne année scolaire à tous!

Amitiés,

Rita Davis rdavis@agnesirwin.org

National French Week, November 7–13, 2011
Please consult our national website at frenchteachers.org for a myriad of exciting and well thought-out suggestions. If we as French teachers want French to be kept at the forefront, it is essential that we create activities that touch the community outside of the classroom.

Le Grand Concours

For the year 2012, registration will be done exclusively on the website. Please check frenchteachers.org/concours or aatfphila.org for details. All corrections will be done electronically at an off-site location. If you have any questions contact Sister Mary Helen Kashuba, our local administrator at 215-248-7124 or email: kashubam@chc.edu.
